Simcha Jacobovici and Charles Pellegrino
The Jesus Family Tomb, written in part by Simcha Jacobovici “The Naked Archeologist”, is an interesting read for those who are grounded in faith or in science. The authors direct their readers through an exciting discovery and investigation of the Titanic type. The book centers on the accidental discovery of a tomb and the 10 ossuaries (burial boxes) that were encased in it. These ossuaries are discovered to be from the time of Jesus of Nazareth. This story provides amazing historical, statistical, scientific and archeological facts that point to the probability that this tomb and its ossuaries once held the bodies of Jesus and his family. This book is a good read for believers of Christ and non-believers alike. It is written from a scientific perspective with no religious tendencies. There is an amazing respect for all of the religions and at no time did I feel as though the authors were trying to disprove my own religious beliefs. The authors never claim to have indisputable proof of the original inhabitants of the ossuaries. Their claims are all based on statistical probabilities and amazing coincidences. The few dry spots I found were easily read through and the overall storyline left me dying to know the truth.
