Kim Edwards writes a thrilling story that shows how the choices we make can alter and shape the future of our lives. She forms her characters in away that left them all, with the exception of Phoebe, seeming both the victim and the villain. I spent much time hating and loving these characters and hoping beyond hope that all would end up happy. This story revolves around the split second decisions of a doctor and his nurse when his wife gives birth to twins, one perfectly healthy and normal and the other obviously afflicted with Down’s syndrome. These decisions leave a family split apart and everyone feeling as though their lives are missing something. Finally, this story shows the unconditional love of families and the salvation from pain and suffering that family can bring about. Very good read and enthralling in the twists and turns that brings these families to their ultimate ending.
