Rita Cosby
One thing you guys will realize about me is that I absolutely love to read poignant historical books with great meaning. The other thing you will realize is that sometimes I like a little trash! This book was my little dip into trash for the month. I saw an interview with Rita Cosby about this book on The Montel Williams Show two weeks ago. I decided that since I really liked Rita Cosby as a journalist I would go ahead and read it. I was one of those people who were glued to Headline News and Court TV from the time Daniel Smith died until the day Larry Birkhead brought his daughter home. I knew that this book was supposed to have the inside scoop. So on Friday evening I set out to read it. I just couldn’t wait. By Saturday night I had finished the 244 page book and had more information about the happenings of those few months than I thought I wanted to know. It was a page turner and it shed light on so many facts about the case that the public didn’t know. Towards the end she treats her readers to a fact that I have NEVER heard leaked by any media source. It isn’t even something I have heard discussed as rumor. SHOCKING! It was a wonderful book that really wrapped the case up into a nice neat little package. If you have ever had an inkling of curiosity about the case it is a must read!

Anybody see all the controversy surrounding this book now? Rita Cosby is being sued by Howard Stern and Larry Birkhead over what they call falsehoods in the book. My first thoughts were, “Yeah, of course you’re going to call it a lie”. Then I saw the news clips of Rita Cosby that were taped by the Bahamian lawyer for the former nannies. I was shocked at how she was working to cover her butt and establish a source for the information from the book. It really casts a suspicion over the book and everything in it. Still a good read but it is looking more and more like a fiction to me. What do you think?
