After Diana: William, Harry, Charles, and the Royal House of Windsor
I began to read this book because I was interested to see how it played against the Tina Brown book I had just finished reading. I was disappointed at first because so much of the beginning chapters seemed to be verbatim stories from the ones I read in the other book. It was a wonderful suprise to see that where the Brown book left off after Diana’s death this one gave me an incredible insite into what has made her boys the men they are. The stories about what their lives were like after their mother’s death give a face to these boys who until now have just been faces on the TV. The royal family was not "let off of the hook" when Diana died and actually saw their lives made more difficult in trying to live beyond her larger than life image. Her life and death have changed the way that the royal family operates forever. The family has become a more approachable and more fallible institution that the people they serve can actually relate to now. This is a good read for those who love Diana stories and who can get through the predictable first 3 chapters.
