The tastes of New Orleans cocktails

March 13th, 2008 · 1 Comment

I was reading our local newspaper The Times Picayune a few days ago and they had a really funny and interesting article in the Living section that I thought I would pass along. Here is the link to the article: http://www.nola.com/news/t-p/frontpage/index.ssf?/base/living-10/1205126443120880.xml&coll=1

New Orleans has a restaurant family named Brennan who own and operate many excellent and interesting restaurants in the city. They are well known for their excellent food and drinks. Two of the members of this family named Ti Martin and Lally Brennan wrote a book that is a compilation of cocktail recipes. This book includes not only the recipes but also stories and anecdotes about the way that the recipes were created and where they originated. They have some absolutely hilarious stories to tell and reading about this book made me laugh and think about my life growing up in New Orleans. This is a book that I want to share with my girlfriends. We are making plans to start testing out some of the recipes. This is a great way to spend a little girl time and laugh and have a ball. I highly suggest that you guys pick it up if you are at all intrigued with New Orleans and why we do things so differently down here. Enjoy!
