Mechanical Engineering Degree with a sense of humor

March 26th, 2008 · No Comments

When I was in college I was an adult learner. I went back to college after having sat out for 8 years. I had a husband and children and I had responsibilities that alot of the young kids in my classes didn’t have to deal with. Sick children or school vacations could easily blow a day of school out of the water for me. I quickly learned that my best options were to take online classes. I could work at my own pace which was usually faster than other people. I could do the work when it was most convenient for me and I could learn in a manner that worked well for me. It didn’t matter if kids got sick or school was canceled for them. I could be a mom and a student.

I recently came across an online school that has both a good reputation and a sense of humor. The school is named Kettering University and they offer degrees in everything from Chemistry and Applied Mathematics to mechanical engineering . They have been listed by US News Best Colleges  as the "#1 University in the nation for Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering" in its annual "America’s Best Colleges Guide for 2008".

Now I say that this school also has a sense of humor. Their recruitment videos are some of the funniest things I have ever seen. They all star a character named Stickman. One of my favorites is School Daze Episode 1. You have got to check it out. If you are at all interested in going back to school or starting school then I suggest that you look into Kettering University and see what they have to offer.
