The end of Diana’s story?

by janet on April 7, 2008

Princess Diana was killed in a car accident on August 31, 1997 and now aver 10 years later there may be an end to the story. Mohamed Al Fayed who is the father of Diana’s love interest at the time, Dodi, has kept the investigation going for all of these years. He has tried every avenue possible to get a finding made that said that members of the Royal Family were responsible for the accident in a plot to murder the princess. His belief has always been that the family was worried that Diana would marry a Muslim man. After almost 11 years the Coroner’s jury has ruled that Diana was killed as a result of the recklessness of the paparazzi and the driver. This is a defeat once again for Mr. Al Fayed since it doesn’t place any blame whatsoever on the royal family. If anything it puts some of the burden on him for his sons death since the driver was an employee of his and was drinking heavily before being involved in the accident. This finding holds a charge of manslaughter. This should be the end of the story and perhaps it means that the families can move on. I am not sure that we will be so lucky though since it seems that Mr. Al Fayed believes that these findings are "biased’. This doesn’t sound like the words of a man who is resigned to move on and let sleeping dogs lie.

Mr. Al Fayed is an embittered old man who has yet to face any truth but what is in his fantasies. Until he comes to terms with this, I’m afraid he will have no peace.
