I started taking my kids once a week when they were small. My son would check out stacks and stacks of books, read them all, and be ready for more every week. He still does, though his books have gotten longer and take a little longer to read. Summer reading programs are great. The kids have so much fun at our library. They bring in entertainers and animals and all kinds of things. Also the kids keep track of the books or minutes they read and get prizes at the end of the summer. Our library runs programs for the kids, teens, and the adults, so everyone can get involved. Oh, yes, definitely take her to the library and spend time there. Most of the ones I went too were book readings in the afternoon or book reading contests. The EBR Parish system had a thing where you could sign up to read all summer long and had different levels so like reading 25 books = $5 at McDonald's or something similar.
