Plain blank journals

I realized one day a few months ago that I was having issues remembering what books I had read and what they were about and whether or not I liked the books. I get and read a lot of books in one year so at some point I always find myself wondering, "Did I read that book yet?" or better yet, "I know I read that book but did I like it?" So now I have developed a system for myself to remember my books.

I started buying blank journals and I write down lists in one of what I have read and what I want to read. I split the book in half and put one of those sticky page tabs on it and then I write the books I want to read at the beginning and the ones I have read at the end.

When I am browsing online looking for books to get I can use my want list to search and if I see one that looks good I can go back and make sure I haven’t read it or ordered it already. When I order a book I will make a note next to it on my want list to show that I have ordered it so I don’t order it again.

I have a separate blank journal where I will keep notes on the books as I read them. I can refer back to them later to see if it was a book I liked or didn’t like and why I felt that way. It helps when I am reading several books at once to be able to keep the thoughts on each separate and I can refer to them when I do my book reviews.

I highly recommend these books for anyone who needs to keep notes. You don’t have small pieces of paper all over. You can put them on a book shelf when you don’t need them and they blend in just like regular books.
