Jump start on Christmas

June 12th, 2008 · No Comments

I am notoriously late if not absent totally from the whole Christmas Card exchange thing each year. I have a horrible time with finding cards that I like. Then once I find them I have to sit down and sign them all. Finally, addressing and mailing them. Somehow I always get sidetracked before the last step occurs. Last year I ordered cards but they were generic ones that just had our names printed on the inside. In the end I didn’t send them because I was waiting to get prints of pictures to send with them to help to make them a little more personal. This year is going to be different. Why? Because I have a plan.

I just got back my prints of our pictures from our Disney pictures from December. Lo and Behold there is  photo of my whole family in front of a Christmas tree and we look like we are in the Holiday Spirit. The other thing is that I have found a place to get Photo Cards that can be personalized. What a great idea! I can upload my photo and personalize the text and they print them and send them to me. That cuts out all of the steps except the addressing and mailing. Even I can get that part done. I can put a holiday message on the inside a maybe "Merry Christmas" on the outside with the photo. They have a wide range of styles that you can choose from and they even give you some examples so you can get ideas about what to do. Here is one that I just thought was too cute:

I think that this is the way to go for busy moms. Who has time anymore to hunt down those Christmas Cards anymore? Another great use for these would be to take photos from your vacations and print out cards that can be used for Thank You cards, Note Cards or to let everyone know you have returned from vacation. By putting the photos on the front and then leaving the text blank you can use the cards for just about any purpose you want. You will save money by buying in bulk. You could even use the cards for birthday cards. Imagine how cool it would be to not have to run out every time you needed a card for something. Another great use would be to put a photo of your child on the front and then use the cards as both invitations to the birthday party and thank you cards afterward. The options are endless really and best of all you aren’t printing them out on your printer or having to run to different stores looking for matching sets. Enjoy!
