Janet’s Book Nook

My oldest daughter has made a new friends this summer. She just moved in down the street and has been coming by to play. Well tonight we walked her home and my husband was in HEAVEN. This child’s dad has the biggest and baddest metal building garage we have ever seen. He does Corvette, Mustang and vintage Beetle restoration. He has pieces of parts of cars everywhere and he has several cars that he rebuilt to use for dirt racing.

My husband has never been huge on restoring cars but with the last few years a lot of his guy family members have been restoring old Chevy Novas. This got him interested in it to begin with. Then we met up with my uncle who is a Porsche mechanic for many, many years now and he is restoring an old Porsche. Well now my husband swears that he needs a garage like that so he can work on cars also.

Now I love the look of restored cars too but that is one expensive hobby. I think I am going to have to use my superior on line skills to find the parts and pieces cheaper on line. Some of those cars have parts that aren’t made anymore. Can you imagine the cost if you don’t go to a place that specializes in that? I’m not sure I am ready for another hobby. Thankfully we have a while to decide. He is working so much overtime right now he doesn’t have time to think about finding a  car to restore. If I know him though it will be just a matter of time.
