I have been so stressed out lately and I just haven’t been able to figure out why. I seem to be on edge all the time. I think it has been the constant running that I have had to do this summer. I decided to make today a pampering day for me since the kids were at my Mother In Laws house for a few days. I started the day with a hair appointment at 9am. Now I have been going to the Aveda Institute Beauty School for the last year. I chose this place for several reasons. One they are students whose future career depend on their ability to do my hair correctly. They aren’t motivated simply by money. This means that they will carefully consider every cut and color they do. Two, they are monitored at every step by instructors so that I know that they are doing it correctly. I have always gotten good results. I also like that I can call today and usually get an appointment tomorrow. Today I realized one thing that I don’t like. It takes forever! I arrived at 9 am and I got out at 1pm for a cut and color and I have short hair. Don’t get me wrong the job is fabulous but that is 4 hours of my life I will never get back.
After getting my hair done I realized that my eyebrows had turned in to something akin to spiders freeloading on my face. I was able to get one of the students to give me a lip and brow wax while I was there. Again fabulous service. I had to laugh as I thought of my BAP friend Cee while I was there. I asked for a brow wax and the girl asked if I needed my lip done too. I said, "No I don’t think so" and she said, "Oh I think you do, I’ll do it for free!" Obviously my lip hair was so bad that she was willing to give me a freebie just to not see me walk out like that! LOL.
My next stop was a trip to the Nurse Practitioner for my DEPO Shot. Now I have to say that I love the shot because the convince and all the other positives. What I don’t like is that in the last week of my needing to get it again I am something similar to Tammy Faye Baker as she was in the PTL days. I cry at the drop of a hat and I get hysterical at things as simple as the fact that my mother in law got lost on the way to gymnastics. So needless to say this stop was of vital necessity.
Finally I decided that I needed a manicure and a pedicure. I have to say that I had these done about three weeks ago and really my nails were looking good. They had all grown out nice and long and even and strong. The only issue was that I had broken my index finger on my right finger two days ago. Broken to the quick I tell you. So I had this one odd nail. I get to the shop and ask the girl if she can give me a manicure and maybe put a tip or gel nail on my lone short nail. She tells me that she is going to "Take care of me" Kay no problem. Well holy hell we get to the nails and as I am watching a compelling issue of Jerry Springer on the super flat screens she proceeds to cut all of my nails off so that they match the broken one. HELLO!!!! I meant make that one long not the other 9 short. Well luckily my nails grow quick and they needed to be trimmed anyways and they ended up looking fabulous and even. Next time I may just bring a translator though because obviously something got lost in translation there.
So that was my fabulous day of beauty. Now I get to clean house like a mad woman tomorrow for this super duper double dipper birthday party for the kids on Sunday. I probably should have cleaned today and pampered tomorrow so as to not screw up my nails but oh well.

Oh man that nail story is priceless. It would have taken less effort to just keep them all long and not done anything at all to the odd short one than to cut them all off. It’s funny what watching tv can do to you. I ran for 2 miles the other night because I was so enthralled in Cheaters. Who would have known Cheaters would help me with my running. lol
I am glad you got a much needed day of pampering. I could tell that you needed one earlier this week.
