Surprise for my hubby

July 31st, 2008 · 3 Comments

My husband has been saying for years that he wanted to own a motorcycle. I on the other hand have been saying no for just as long. It is one of the few things that we really disagree on. I don’t mind motorcycles it is just a big expense to own one and we have small children so it isn’t really practical.  Well I heard from some friends that there are places where you can rent motorcycles to take on a trip for the day or even on a guided tour that takes you through several states. I did some research and I found Eaglerider.com which is a company that does was is called motorcycle tourism. This is a great concept. They rent you the cycles and they will even take you on a guided tour. This means no maintaining the cycles or worrying about where you will go and how you will get there. People like my husband who dream of being  a Harley Motorcycle driver can achieve these dreams without going broke. You can take the cycles on guided tours from one location to another and see some of the most fabulous sites in the country. The best part? They have a pick-up location in New Orleans so it would be perfect for him.  Not to mention that they offer cycle sales too for those men with wives who will allow it. I am going to start planning this as a surprise for my husbands birthday in February. I know he will love being able to drive a Harley and I will love that we won’t have to hock one of the kids for him to be able to do it.

I am a big fan of renting things. Especially vehicles that depreciate and have maintenance!

What a great concept! My hubby loves motorcycles too, but of course not yet…

I’m sure that gift will make his day, well wait, maybe week or month!

I’ve thought of doing this for my dad. It really is a neat idea.
