Lasik eye surgery, does it work?

August 5th, 2008 · 1 Comment

I have always had issues with my eyes. As a very small child had eye surgeries to try to correct a wondering eye also called crossed eyes. I was forced to wear eye patches at home to strengthen my eye muscles. My parents paid  a fortune for a machine that had eye cards on it that I had to use to try to correct the issues. Finally in 8th grade I got contact lenses and now I mostly just switch between those and glasses. Needless to say I am skeptical of eye surgeries in general. I have seen that Lasik has become common place now. They are doing these surgeries everyday now and they seem to be getting wonderful results. I am just wondering if anyone who has had an issue like what I have has had success with this surgery? I am going to be going to get a consultation but I just need to see if anyone out there in my readership has experienced this surgery.

Hey Janet! I just saw this post about lasik and thought I would share with you that I had it done about 7 years ago. My contacts were both a -6.5 and I now have 20/20 in one eye and 20/15 in the other. It definitely works & I would do it again! I would highly recommend it! It’s life changing for someone who can’t see the alarm clock in front of her face!
