Flowers to brighten the day

August 27th, 2008 · No Comments

As I was growing up I can remember my mother always saying that flowers were a waste of money because they died and you were out of a gift. As I got to be an adult I almost started to believe that. Until I married a man whose mother was a flower child.

My mother in law started off just bringing flowers over to my house to plant. Then she started landscaping my yard. Now I can’t imagine life with flowers all around me. She has wild flowers and day lilies and flowers of every type planted all around my home for me to see whenever I walk outside or look out of the window.

Burgundy RosesOne of the things I regret though is that I can’t grow roses. I love roses. What is my favorite color? Burgundy. I love the dark deep color of a Burgundy rose and I also love that it stands for "unconscious beauty" or a beauty that is unassuming. I love this. I think this is my mother in law for sure. So I thought it might be nice to send her some Burgundy roses.

I think that if you are going to buy roses then 1800flowers.com us ideal place because they carry every color and type of rose you could want to buy. The roses are beautiful and the prices are very reasonable. Not to mention you have to feel confident in a floral company that is a Proud Sponsor of the American Rose Society.  Who better to go to for roses than an expert. I know that mother in law will love these beautiful flowers but they are very different than what she grows in her yard. I think that is why I love them as a gift so much. They are stately and beautiful and yet so unassuming also. I can’t wait to send them and see how well she likes them.
