Bella doesn't want to be evil... she wants to be like the Cullens who are good vamps. I think Stephenie shows that sometimes there is no choice in love. There are way more people at Bella's old school than the tiny Forks High School so it's kind of easy to infer that since there are less people in Forks, a newcomer is pretty interesting. Rosalie doesn’t like Bella because Bella’s human and Rosalie wants to be human.
