Over the past few weeks since the announcement of Sarah Palin as the running mate of John McCain I have seen so much media hype about her eyeglasses. I had no idea something so simple could be so important to people. It has been reported that the sales of the maker of her eye ware have soared since she was announced. I will agree that she made a fantastic choice in eye wear but really she pays a fortune for those glasses. I just don’t get spending that kind of money on a pair of glasses that can be broken easily. Not to mention the fact that the styles change so quickly who wants to pay $350+ for glasses that won’t be in style in 6 months.

I think I have a much better option for people who don’t want to pay a fortune for glasses like Palin’s. I mentioned a while back that Clark Howard  had featured Zenni Optical on his website. Well I just got notice today that Zenni has received a batch of new frames. If you looked last time and couldn’t find what you like now would be a good time to check back. I have to say though that it is hard to imagine anyone not finding something they like. I think the bigger issue is trying to limit yourself from purchasing too many pairs. The frames from Zenni are reasonably priced and are really good quality. They provide eyeglasses that resemble a lot of the designer frames but at a fraction of the cost. I am sure Sarah Palin is too conservative for the multi colored arms but I really liked them. I like the rimless frames and the price is a very reasonable $26 so if I decide that I want something different I can change again later without a major investment. Zenni also has a huge assortment of eyeglasses for just $8. This is great for people who are constantly replacing lost or broken glasses for their children. It also works well for people who like to change their eyeglasses to match their outfits. You can purchase many pairs and wear the one that strikes you fancy for the day. I know I have said it before but I just can’t say enough good things about Zenni Optical. At a time when everything we purchase is costing so much more and our paychecks are getting smaller or staying the same it is nice to know that there is a place where we can get a necessary item like eye wear without having to break the bank.
