Thanksgiving Pre-Trip Report Part 2

by janet on October 24, 2008

Once I had made clear decisions on when and where we would be going I was not done my planning. First I had to budget my finances so that everything including spending money and tips could be set aside before the trip. I like to know that everything is paid for so I budget things down to the penny. Does this mean that our trips are low budget? No Way! We just make sure we have the money ahead of time for everything we are going to spend.

My other method of planning is to use Tour Guide Mike’s website to plan my best days and best times. I know where I will be every day of the trip. I have used him three times now and I have to say we have terrific trips. We rest, we eat and best of all WE RIDE!!!! My kids are thrill riders. They love Tower of Terror and Splash Mountain more than they love Hannah Montana, Handy Manny and Diego. We waited a few days and realized that we were going to have to measure the kids. We are at that cross over period. We know the kids would be fine if they only got to ride what they rode last time. However, there is a possibility my oldest will be old enough now for Rockin’ Roller Coaster. There is also a possibility that the two younger ones will be able to do Expedition Everest and Space Mountain. They are all within an inch of being there so we will have to see when we get closer.

My next venture was one that nearly drove me over the edge. I decided I wanted us to be one of those families that wears the matching shirts everyday. They always have really cute photos and it really would make packing much easier. I started out by perusing sites and getting some help from other Disney freaks and ended up with some really great designs to use. I had to purchase 30 shirts. I then had to print all of the designs on to transfer paper and iron them on to the shirts. I have to say the shirts are really great but man it was a lot of work. Not hard just time consuming. I think I will purchase them next time.

Finally I am starting to put all of our Disney stuff on the side.  I have all of the shirts folded and in bags. I found our lanyards with out holders for our tickets and fastpasses. I also have my passporter pockets ready to put my plans on. I guess the last thing is to wait for some updated info on show times and make my plans for each day and our itinerary for those days. The excitement really hit today when I noticed I have plans for every weekend until we leave so we will stay busy and it will fly by. I can’t wait!
