I am so glad I chose this as my book for reentering the true crime genre of books. I haven’t read any true crime stories is quite some time so I was a little worried I wouldn’t pick a good one. Really you can’t go wrong with Ann Rule though because she is the queen of true crime.
In Too Late To Say Goodbye Anne Rule tells the story of Dr. Barton Corbin who is a dentist from Georgia with an ex-girlfriend and his current wife who both have died of suicide from a gunshot wound to the head. It is immediately suspicious to everyone especially when Dr. Corbin refuses to speak to police or even come to his home to see his wife or his two young sons who found their mother dead in her bed.
Rule takes us through the lives of all three of the main characters and how their lives crossed paths and how these two beautiful, intelligent, loving woman end up dead way before their time. I love the way Rule intertwines the different investigations and the different time frames to show the similarities in the cases even though they occurred 14 years apart.
I recommend this one for true crime enthusiasts. It is a heartbreaking story to say the least.
