I decided that my goal for today was going to be to clean out the junk drawer next to my stove. I figure I can pick one main goal a day and eventually I will get all of those jobs done that I don’t want to do. This ended up being a more tedious task than I expected.
Ironically the reason I have a junk drawer is because most of it is items I have no other place for. I found this drawer was full of promotional pens from church that I seem to come home with each week, batteries that I am not sure work or not, screws and other items that belong in the shed, chords of every type that I have no idea what they belong to. So what do I do with these items? I mean the pens can go in my purse and office desk. The nuts, bolts and screws to the shed. What do I do with these chords? I know if I throw them out I will need them but I have no idea what they belong to so I can reunite them with their appliance or electronic.
I think what I will do is to wrap them up and use bread ties to bind them and then put them all in a ziploc bag. Then I can put that in the drawer leaving the rest of the drawer free for me to put my kitchen towels in. For some reason I have been keeping these in a bowl on my counter. This seems to help clear off two areas at one time. Mission accomplished! I am one step closer to getting this place organized.
