As you can see I have been able to spend some time here today. There are a few reasons for that. First of all everyone was off today. Second of all I have a sick kid. Third of all my cable isn’t working so I have no television.
My day started off with trying to get an appointment for my son to see the doctor. He woke up yesterday saying his ear was hurting and he couldn’t hear me when I talked. I finally got one for 1:30pm. We ran to my office to get some work done first and then headed over to the appointment. Sure enough he has an ear infection. So off to the grocery we go so I could fill his prescription and get something to cook for dinner. I put the prescription in and got my groceries but I still had to wait a little while. Waiting in a store with a 7, 5 and 4 year old is not a fun time. They were fighting over the basket and nearly knocked over one of those cardboard displays that hold items at the end of the aisle. They were arguing with me over what I needed to buy. Finally they needed candy…of all things, and couldn’t make up their mind prompting me to almost lose it.
We got home and the fighting had only just begun. It was at this point I noticed the cable was out and so they had no television to watch. The decided to play HSM on the Wii and sang their little hearts out until they got the order messed up and fought over that too. There goes the Wii. Then they fought over the DS games. Seriously? We have 3 for a reason. So no one has to be without one. Seems we also need 3 of every game to stop the fighting. Not gonna happen. Instead I took those too. At this point they start seeing a pattern and decided to go to the girls’ room and fight behind closed doors so as to not lose anymore privileges.
Now they are bathed and teeth are brushed and they are ready for bed. They really don’t resemble the crazy kids who were tormenting each other all day. I think it is just a ruse to lull me in to a false sense of security so they can fight over cereal bowls in the morning. We shall see if they have to fore go breakfast or not. They are insane but I love them.
