You pay the upfront price of $359 and in return you never have to lug, store or dispense of books. You just download the ones you want to your Kindle 2 and read them when you are ready. It holds 20,000 books at once and you can store even more through your Amazon.com account. You also can download newspapers to the Kindle 2 so you don’t have to dispose of all of those dead trees anymore. The Kindle 2 is much easier to carry and store. I was shocked when I saw it just how thin and light it is. Most books that you purchase through Kindle 2 are $9.95 but there are many older books that are even cheaper and occasionally some free ones. The Kindle is easy to carry and it weighs even less than one book. I can’t tell you how many times I have wanted to read one of my books but find I have forgotten it at home or in the car. This way I could carry all of my books with me at one time. I have heard that it is not so easy to get used to reading this way. You are constantly wanting to flip non-existent pages. I have also heard some people say that they found themselves a little jittery after reading from it the first few times but that it went away quickly and they didn’t experience it anymore once they were used to the machine.
