I decided to use the holiday today to do some summer cleaning. I am going through closets and toy boxes. I have been scrubbing down everything I can find. One of the things that I have realized I need to clean are my area rugs. The ones in my children’s rooms are especially dirty and I just don’t know how to clean them.
I have a carpet cleaner and I have used it in the past to clean the rugs but it doesn’t do a very good job and they end up getting even dirtier later on. I have considered taking them out to the patio and pressure washing them but I am concerned about what all that water will do the rugs. I finally decided I would use a soft brush and some carpet cleaning solution to clean them. This method means a long time on my hands and knees.
In the end if this doesn’t work I am going to be resigned to replacing my rugs. I would love to know if you guys have methods I haven’t considered that help to clean area rugs and remove stains. What are the best cleaners and tools to use?
