Most of you know that my favorite place in the world to go on vacation is to Disney. I have begun to realize though that there are many many people out there who do not enjoy Disney and they love to go other places for their summer vacations. I decided to see what was out there for my family that doesn’t involve amusement parks.

One of the first things I found was that you can find some really nice Outer Banks rentals on the outer banks of North Carolina. These rental homes give a family the opportunity to stay on the beach in a full size, fully furnished home. It is like living at the beach. This is so important for my family. We have five people and we need the space of a full size house. I have also found that our trips to the beach are miserable if me merely have a hotel room. We need to be able to spread out, rest, shower and eat all at the same time. In a hotel room I have to be concerned with waking napping kids. A full size house will give us the opportunity to enjoy the comforts of home while also enjoying the beach.

We have never been to the east coast or seen the Atlantic Ocean. We usually do the beach at the Gulf Coast and see the Gulf of Mexico. I think my kids would have an amazing time swimming in the ocean and seeing white sand beaches. I also love that this would be a relaxing vacation as opposed to the amusement park ones where we end up worn out when we get back.

I have definitely put North Carolina on the list of vacations to be done. I can’t wait!
