Weight Loss Frenzy

by janet on June 18, 2009

It seems like my whole life I have seen and heard of people who were desperate to lose weight. Everyone, everywhere seems to be overweight these days. There isn’t much of a gray area anymore. You are either obese or healthy. No in between. It amazes me when I read articles that say according to my height and weight I would qualify for weight loss surgery. These procedures were once reserved for people who were so obese they were unable to live their lives. How is it that they are now common place for people who can move and drive and live and work?

The old way was for people to exercise themselves until they lost the weight. They didn’t curve their food intake but just increased their output so that they were able to keep their weight under control. Then people started to use weight loss pills. The old types were not very healthy for you and they often caused more problems then they fixed. Now there are new pills like Lipovox that are much healthier and help curve the appetite so that people can take in less calories.

Losing weight is not an easy task. It is so hard to change the mindset of a person who has been overeating all of their lives. The weight loss pills help them to curve the appetite so that they can make the adjustments necessary to change their diets. Moving away from processed foods to fresh foods makes all the difference in the world in how a person loses weight. Many of the preserves and additives in foods and diet drinks actually cause people to be more hungry and crave sugars.

I have to wonder why the portion sizes are getting bigger, the fast food places getting more popular and people becoming more obese at a time when there is very little extra money in the pockets of Americans. Why not alter diets in order to save money and calories? Saving those calories could add years to a person’s life and enjoyment to the years they have.
