I love make-up. I love to test make-up. I love to buy make-up. I LOVE make-up. It always fits and makes me feel better. Even on "fat days" I can put on make-up and feel better about myself. When I recently got a chance to try the new line of skin care from Burt’s Bees I was so excited. BzzAgent sent me a full size trial of the Natural Skin Solutions Facial Cleanser and the Daily Moisturizer.

I have been a long time user of one particular brand so getting me to change skin care products is no easy task. I gave up my usual products for 5 days and used only these two products. I have to say that I love that these products are 99% natural. When you read the ingredient list you will recognize most if not all of the products. The Facial Cleanser I found to be a good product. It wasn’t drying like some of the other products I have used in the past. It felt smooth and silky both while on my face and after being rinsed off. It felt heavy like it was doing its job. My skin didn’t feel tight after washing. In contrast, the Daily Moisturizer was not at all heavy. It went on smooth and light and absorbed quickly. I didn’t feel greasy or oily at all. There was no shine to my skin after applying the moisturizer. These are both non-fragrance products and this appealed to me because I hate to smell the products on my face all day long. However, there is an odor to this product. It is a smell that reminds me of the facial products my mom or grandma used when I was little. It wasn’t unpleasant just different. The odor in the moisturizer disappeared almost immediately after applying. I didn’t notice the smell throughout the day only upon first application.

Overall I would say that these are both exceptional products. I think the greatest advantage of this line over other lines is that they are 99% natural. You know exactly what is going on your face. I have long been a fan of Burt’s Bees lip balms and I have no qualms at all about adding some of the facial products to my regimen.

Have hard to buy for people on your list? Well I have the gift for you! They will never complain about your gifts again! My friend Tricia from Sunshine Rewards sent me a gift of boxed brownies from Fairytale Brownies two weeks ago and I have been in heaven ever since.

The box I received came with an assortment of different sized and flavored brownies. I don’t think I found a single flavor I didn’t like and I am not a chocolate fan. Each brownie is individually wrapped so you can send the whole box to one person and they will stay fresh until they have eaten them all. You can also order the box and then split up the brownies any way you like. They are boxed so nicely though that I am ordering boxed gifts for all of my hard to buy people. They have instructions included that tell the recipient how to care for their brownies to ensure they stay fresh. It took us about 2 weeks to eat all of the brownies and I have to say that the last one was as fresh as the first one. My husband and all 3 of my children loved them as much as I did. I checked out their site and they have so many different levels of boxed sets that you can surely find something for every budget. I am not usually a fan of food that shipped because you never know how fresh it is going to be when it gets there. That is not a concern with Fairytale Brownies!! They are fresh and tasty like homemade!

I know that Christmas seems to be one of the best shopping times for electronics. It seems like every year my children’s wants in the electronics department get more expensive. We have requests for the newest game systems, laptops, games, handheld game systems and finally televisions. I have to agree that my kids need new televisions so I have been searching for some great deals on flat screens that are around 32 inch. My kids still have televisions that are big enough to knock them out if dropped on their head. They have televisions with built in DVD players that no longer work. I think it is time to find new ones. Question for me is when do you buy the tv insurance? Do you buy it every time you make a purchase? Does it depend on the cost of the television? Do you buy from the manufacturer or do you buy through one of those outside sources that sells insurance for products? I find this part to be even more confusing than the actual purchase of the television. I have only used the insurance once before and it was for the 50 inch that we have in the den. It came in very handy in that situation. I am scared though that the one time I don’t buy it will be the time I need it. So what do you guys say? Buy it or not?

Why oh why do I always wait so long to start my Christmas shopping? It seems this year that I have really waited too long. I am frantically trying to figure out what to buy and I can’t even begin to purchase yet because my list consists of names and no gift ideas yet. What are the hip gifts this year? Even my children haven’t been badgering with gift ideas yet. My range of ages for gift recipients is so wide that it is hard for me to decide at times what to purchase. For example, I have a 3 year old nephew that I can buy a dinosaur for and her will be wildly excited. I also have an 83 year old grandma that is just hoping for an electric blanket because it is getting cold and she doesn’t want to waste the money running her heater. In between there I have parents, teachers, my children, my friends and the list goes on and on! I tend to take advantage of online shopping because the only thing I hate worse than choosing what gifts to buy is going to the store to buy them. Online shopping is a life saver. I have always been a Coach girl so I haven’t ever really considered buying a Dooney & Bourke handbag. Well that was true until this summer. The biggest craze right now are the handbags by Dooney & Bourke that are Disney inspired. There are so many different lines that there is something for everyone. The bag on the left is part of the Pop Princess line and the one on the right is from the Tonal Mickey Collection. I am partial to the one on the right because it is more neutral and is similar to the colors in the Coach bags I am used to carrying. I also like that this particular bag could be carried in Disney as a park bag. It isn’t too big and it has pockets and zippers to put all of your tickets and money and keys. They have many different prints and styles of bags including  writstlets, totes, satchels and wallets. You can get Minnie, Mickey, Princess and assorted Disney sketches. They run about the same pricing as regular Dooney & Bourke bags and Coach bags. The nice thing about these is that because they are limited and Disney they will eventually become desirable as collector’s items. Once they no longer sell these in store they will be a hot item on ebay and will probably fetch a pretty penny. I love that women today can still have quality bags and enjoy a little bit of childhood while doing it. Enjoy!

I just got my newest Bzzagent campaign product yesterday and I have to say that I really like it so far. It is the L’Oreal Collagen Micro-Pulse system and it comes with a creme tube with a small Micro-Pulse massager on the end. You apply the cream under your eyes and then use the massager on different points under the eyes. This is supposed to help reduce the puffiness, dark circles and wrinkles we get in the eye area.

I started using it yesterday when I got it in and used it twice yesterday and once today. I feel like the skin under my eyes is more taut and less puffy. I also notice a difference in the dark circles. I don’t really have wrinkles around the eyes yet so I can’t speak to that but I do think that the absence of the puffiness will help reduce the chance of getting wrinkles. I like that the cream does not have an odor. I don’t like putting things on my face that smell strong and I have to smell all day long right near my nose. This does not have a noticeable fragrance at all. I also like that it is small enough I can throw it in my purse and use it whenever I feel like it.

I think that this product would be a great addition to any make-up regimen. It is quick and easy and the difference it makes is noticeable right away! Enjoy!

Update for September 2010 Show

Many of you know that I love when QVC carries the American Girl dolls. They usually carry sets that are not available anywhere else and at prices that you can’t find anywhere else. I have purchased 6 sets through them in the past few years and so I am always looking out for their next show.

I have heard some rumbling on the "street" that the next show will be in September for the 2nd Anniversary of American Girl on QVC. There is also some talk that they will possibly carry Lainey who is the Girl of the Year this year in an effort to give her a push before the end of the year. I also have heard talk that Rebecca will be featured since she is the only AG historical doll that hasn’t been on QVC yet. I wouldn’t be surprised if they gave a deal with the new My American Girl dolls. Probably the new dolls with extra outfits.

This is still all in the rumor stage as I have no confirmation for sure but I will keep my ear to the ground and as soon as I know for sure I will be sure to let you guys know. I know that QVC just started their Christmas in July sales and that they have a Christmas in August series planned also. There is a possibility we will see the AG dolls in August but I believe September was the first show last year. Let me know if you hear anything and I will keep an eye out too!

American Girl dolls are very popular in my family and up until now we have only ordered dolls that were historical or Girl of the Year dolls. My girls love their dolls and play with them daily. I recently got an email, did a survey and got a catalog from American Girl and it seems they are trying to take the dolls in a new direction. The American Girl dolls are going digital!
