It won’t be long now! In just over a month, on November 20th, 2009 the movie edition of New Moon will be coming to theaters. I thought this was a good time to get you guys talking about New Moon again. I had to go back to read my previous posts about New Moon from when we did the book club discussions. I thought I remembered hating New Moon and feeling totally let down after reading Twilight. So much so that I almost didn’t move on to the last two books. When I went back and read what I had posted at the time of the discussion I realized that I might have actually liked New Moon the best.

Why would I like New Moon the best? Well I am in the Team Jacob site and I love that New Moon is so much about Jacob and Bella and not as much about Edward. I remember hating that Bella had all but given up her life after Edward left but I now I realize I like the Bella that was left behind much more than the one that was with Edward.

Here is the real question though…Will New Moon the movie be as good as Twilight if they stick to the book and Robert Pattinson doesn’t have a big role in the movie? I mean Edward was gone for much of New Moon so he certainly can’t have a huge place in the new movie. Will Taylor Lautner be able to carry New Moon the way Pattinson carried Twilight? I think he can. I think people were dying to love Jacob in the first one but he just didn’t have a big enough part. If they do this movie right they could have another mega hit!

What parts of the book do you hope to see in the movie? Are there any parts that you can’t imagine how they will pull off in the movie? I never thought I would want to talk about any part of Twilight again but I am interested in what you guys think about this new movie coming. So let’s hear it!

I have been finding myself interested to see if New Moon was going to be coming out soon and found that they are set to release the sequel to Twilight on November 20, 2009. I have to admit I didn’t enjoy the first movie even though I enjoyed the book. My thoughts with this one is that I didn’t enjoy most of the book New Moon and so perhaps I will enjoy the movie. I think that New Moon contained so many feelings of hurt and pain and abandonment that didn’t come across well in the book but could be played out very well in the movie. I also felt that Jacob wasn’t prominent enough in Twilight and now with New Moon he is going to be a major player. We will get to see a LOT of Jacob in this one. Especially since he is now revealed to be a werewolf and spends half his time in ripped shorts and no shirt. I know he is just  a baby but hey it is all make believe. I finally got a chance to watch the Twilight movie this past weekend. I went in to it with an open mind and I have to say I was disappointed. There were a lot of things about the movie that I disliked so I thought I would start off with what I liked.

• I like the actress chosen to play Esme. I felt like she was very close to what I pictured in my head. I think probably I pictured someone a little closer to Bree from Desperate Housewives but this actress was close enough to make the character believable.
• I like the actors chosen to play Jacob and Billy. Both were just what I pictured in my head. They were very believable and I loved them.
• I loved the Cullen House that was chosen. It was very close to what I pictured from the book. Maybe more modern than I pictured but I think that is because I was stuck in the vampire stereotype that I couldn’t get a really modern house in my vision.
• I loved the choices for Rosalie and Alice. Both were just what I expected.
• The actors chosen to play James, Victoria and Laurent were PERFECT. They were almost my exact idea of what they would have been.

Now to the things I had issues with:

• I totally didn’t get the actors that played Bella and Edward. They both were so far from my visions that I had trouble with believing anything they did.
• I didn’t like the choice for Charlie at all. He was way too young and reminded me of a mall cop. He just didn’t seem like a police chief and his appearance didn’t fit with the Charlie I had in my head.
• I don’t think they got any of the friends right. They all were just way off from the ideas I had. They were just so off I couldn’t even get in to their story lines at all.
• I was SO disappointed with the choice of Dr. Cullen. I pictured someone older and more mature looking while still being devastatingly handsome. I would have thought the actor who played Dr. Cullen looked more like my vision of Jasper.

I think that they had to cut out so much of the storyline in order to make it fit in to the time constraints that much of the story didn’t make sense to someone who hadn’t read the book. This made me feel like the storyline was disjointed and fractured. I didn’t get the emotional pull from the story like I did from reading the book. The actors who played Bella and Edward didn’t have the chemistry I would have expected from the book. I think the draw for me of the series is the emotions that the author is able to get across through her writing. I don’t think the movie captured this and so I found myself waiting for it to end. I also felt like the movie was made for teens. I realize that the books were written for teen aged girls so I guess I should have expected that to transfer to the movie.

All in all I wish I hadn’t have watched the movie. I think it affected my feelings about the series as a whole. I doubt I will be renting the next movie in the series. I still love the books but I just don’t think I want to see them on the big screen.

The day is finally here for Twilight fans. The long awaited release of the Twilight movie to DVD occurred this morning. There were women lined up at the doors of Target to get their copies. Well you don’t have to fight the crowds. I just checked and Target.com still has a fabulous deal available on the Twilight 3-disc Movie Set. This is the set that includes the Itunes download so you can take Twilight with you wherever you go and watch it while working out, waiting in car line or watching your kids’ games. This set is only $17.99 and I haven’t found a deal as good as this one anywhere. Target.com is saying this will ship within 24 hours so you could have yours within a few days. Just go to the electronics section and you will see a banner for the movie. I can’t wait to get mine since I haven’t seen this movie yet. I read all of the books and now I can’t wait to see the movie. I will be sure to do a review of the movie once I get it. Enjoy!

On March 21, 2009 the wildly popular movie Twilight will be released on DVD. I have been waiting for this since I didn’t get to go to the theaters to see it. It came out while I was in Disney and then I had the holidays and it just never happened. I happen to love watching movies at home any way where I can rewind or re-watch parts I didn’t get the first time. I am so excited that this movie is going to be coming out on DVD.

Many of you know I spent quite a lot of time last year reading and discussing the Twilight Series of books and I am looking forward to seeing the characters through the eyes of the producer as compared to the ones I have seen in my head for so long.

I have finally given myself enough space from reading the Twilight Series to delve back in to it. Seriously it was a 6 week addiction for me. I was very emotionally involved in it and to be frank I just don’t get that way about books. I was so angry at some of the things that happened and so happy at others that I seriously was on an emotional roller coaster. OVER  A SET OF BOOKS!

Now that I have given myself some space I have been thinking about the books again. I wonder…if you could write the last book what would you write? If Twilight could have only one more book where would you take the characters? Would you split up Edward and Bella and have her run back to Jacob? Would you fast forward years and show Jacob and Renesmee? What about the other characters? Where do they end up? I would love to hear what you guys think should happen next. I don’t really care if it is feasible or not since we are talking about vampires here. I want to hear the most creative things you can come up with. Once I have given it some thought I might even post a few thoughts of my own on where I would take it.

I don’t know if you guys have seen it yet or not but my friend Tricia over at Buy Twilight has a site dedicated to everything related to Twilight merchandise. You can find some of the most unique items on the net through her site. Tricia and I have been on this Twilight journey together so far and I think she is more addicted to it than I am. She is always on the look out for neat items that most people don’t even know exist.

Finally I think I might break down and order myself a Twilight t-shirt. I haven’t yet because of the whole emotional breakdown thing LOL OK so it was more of a blip but really I was dreaming of vampires and were wolves. Now I just need to decide which one to get from Zazzle.  They have so many neat ones that I can’t decide. I have to say I am a Jacob fan and an Alice fan so those are the criteria. I think I would really love this saying on a tshirt. "Yes, I am one of those Twilight People". So anyway you guys check out Zazzle and Buy Twilight Stuff if you love Twilight like I do. I know you find like a million things you love on those sites.
