This week, I had the unpleasant experience of two large dogs that constantly left there marks on my carpet and tile floors. One of them sufffering from a severe UTI and the other the side effects of prozac. My house is mainly tile floors, however, I have a large area rug in the middle of the livingroom and several throw rugs around the other areas. I picked up all the rugs and brought out the bucket of clorox. Now, clorox disenfects well, and cleans well, but it just doesn’t have that lasting effect on pet urine. It doesn’t have the proper enzymes to battle the acids in urine. While orderin some supplies for my horses, I noticed that Dr. Forster and Smith had a product for pet stain and odor remover, so I thought what the heck, get a half gallon. It arrived very quickly through Fed Ex (yea, they deliver on saturdays) and I immediately pulled it out to look at it. It is one of those products that you are to spray on the area and wipe up. What the heck, my whole house has been peed on, so I thought I’ll run the sweeper and then fill the bottom of a bucket with this and mop up the entire house. Thats exactly what I did (and also a spot on my new livingroom area rug) and it only took about 1/2 hr to do after running the sweeper. I can tell you, I am so very pleased with this product. It has taken all that urine smell out of my tile and grout. The floors dried looking great and smelling great. I will be keeping this on hand. The product is called OdorLogic and it has a fresh citrus scent. You can order it here if you want something powerful to get those awful urine smells and stains out.
