Fatty foods not good for your dog

by cindy on November 29, 2007

Most dogs are not use to eating a lot of fatty food, which is a good thing. However, when you start sneaking them all that fatty stuff over the holidays (especially turkey skin) you are opening them up to pancreatitis. The pancreas starts to overproduce enzymes from eating too much fat, and actually starts to digest itself and cause inflammation. Your dog will experience severe stomach pain and vomiting, and must be seen by a vet. Avoid the fatty food, avoid the sick pets and vet emergencies.
