I don’t spend a lot of money on my chickens cracked corn, but, it does cost me. Plus, I make them rice a couple times a week,. cut up veggies for them and give them any leftover potatoes. Who would have thought they liked potatoes. But, in return, what are they giving me. Nothing. For some reason they aren’t laying eggs in their hen house. I’m not sure why. My youngest, a pretty little white hen started to. She dropped about 4 last week, and this week, nothing. The only thing I can think is that I saw one of my cats laying on top of the henhouse the other day. They aren’t scared of the cat, they walk around the yard together all the time, so that seems strange. The weather isn’t cold, which sometimes makes them quit laying, so I can only think they are laying somewhere else. I’m thinking of building some type of a wire enclosure so the hens have to stay in there and then I can get eggs. The price of eggs is outrageous, so these little buggers better start to ante up before they find themselves on the grill. Now, you know I would do that. Just kiddin.
