You have to wonder what was going through the minds of the Donacas of Prineville, OR as they killed their own dogs and then themselves laid down beside their dogs to die. How horrible it must have felt to know that after many years of dedication to eachother and your pets, in a home you loved, that soon, you would be out on the streets. Its happening to young people, retired people, middle class and single parent families everywhere. So many are losing their homes, and their pets are either being turned loose in the streets or taken to humane societies, which are already filled to the brim. Many of them no longer are accepting these former pets, making their fate unknown. Its not just the humans that are being affected by the rising cost of gas, and groceries, and utilities, its also pets. Some people can no longer afford to feed them, since the price of pet food has sky rocketed also. We have the government and the oil  companies to thank for this , the two richest entities in this plight.  Neither of them seem to care, or be doing anything about it. Oh, we get a little lip service here and there, and I don’t know about you, but I’ve not seen the price of gas go down any, infact, its going up by leaps and bounds. We have to fight back. We must cut down on our fuel consumption. We need to buy only what we need to buy, nothing friviolous. Vacations need to be taken in your backyard, or a neighbors back yard, or locally if at all. One of the ways I am fighting back is I do all my shopping online. Not only do I save gas money, but I also get great online deals only, it cuts down on my impulse buying and I save sales tax. If you want to save money and fight the oil moguls, I am urging you to cut back as much as possible on your oil comsumption, and this is a great way to start.
