An Incredible Dog

August 5th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Its been awhile since I’ve blogged because of a death in the family. My brother was found dead in his apartment, unexpectedly. He laid there for 9 days. Besides him, there was a dog in his apartment, and incredible chocolate lab/pit bull mix named Annie. I had give him Annie a couple years ago. He loved dogs and wanted a chocolate lab. As it turned out, my nail girl had received a litter of pups from someone, and Annie was one of them. She was going to keep Annie, but for financial reasons, she had to give her up. She was about 5 months old at the time. I called my brother at work and asked him if he would like her, and he jumped at the chance. She would be great company for him. The plan was that when he got off work, I would swing by with Annie and drop her off for him, after my nails were done. Well, 5 phone calls later, I finally got her there. He was waiting rather impatiently and anxious to get her. He had gone to Walmart and picked up bowls, food, collars, leashes, toys, all sorts of stuff for her. They quickly became best friends. She loved car rides and he would take her with him whenever he was visiting friends or family.

Annie was extremely well behaved, and well trained. For nine days, she did not potty in the apartment. She was found hidden in the corner of her masters bedroom, scared, alone, hungry. She was taken to the vet and diagnosed with a very bad UTI, but she is on her way to recovery. She is living with a family that she knew well, and with a dog she played with frequently.

Annie…..you are one of a kind.
