If you’ve been following my blog, you know my house has recently been blessed (or cursed) with a new kitty. The other cats were not thrilled about it, especially my male cat who thinks he should be the only animal in my life. Time has gone on, and he is adjusting to the fact she is here, though he resents it, he is tolerating her for the most part. My older cat Babe, is sort of ambivalent to her new house guest, but at her age, I can see why. My fat cat, Myah, all 24 lbs of her is starting to actually enjoy the company of Ali, the baby kitty.
Myah is only 4 years old, and though she is quite large, she can move quick when she wants to, and she really does like playing. She has now accepted the baby and they play quite frequently, which is good exercise for Myah and good entertainment for Ali. Its taking the pressure off me and my furniture. Ali is growing a little and doesn’t seem to need quite as much attention from any of us. She still loves to cuddle, though not always without a few bites first. I see some light at the end of the kitty tunnel. I’ll probably wish when shes an adult that she was my baby again, but that will in no way tempt me to take on another kitten. They are fun to watch, fun to play with, but they sure need lots of supervision.
