When I worked at the veterinary clinic often times a special food would be recommended for cats and dogs that had allergies. I use to think that Lamb and rice was the way to go, but I think since its been sold over the counter for so many years that dogs have even developed an allergy to that. The one that seems to be of choice now is duck and potatoe. I only knew of a couple manufacturers that made this and they were all only available at veterinary offices.
I was extremely surprised when I was online looking at a company called Pet Nutrition Products that they carried the potatoe and duck food. This all natural food is quite a bit cheaper then I remember it being at the veterinary clnics, so I wanted to pass this along. If your pet has allergies, check this food out. It could save you a lot of money in the long run with medications and shots and also help keep your pet feeling good.

Food is often blamed for pet allergies. Years ago when testing was done on foods to see if our pets were being put back into pet food, the DNA for lamb could not be found in the lamb and rice food tested. Ann M. Martin reveals more about the controversial pet food industry in her books.
As the pet parent of an American Eskimo which is a breed known for sensitivities to food and vaccines, I prefer to use a food formulated by a vet that I personally know and that I can get within 6 weeks of it being made because I care about my pet’s health.
Food labels can still be deceiving. I would advise anyone to call the toll-free number on the bag of food and see if they are satisfied with the response that they get or better yet, see if they can actually talk with someone that formulated the food. This is a big business but they need our business. Let them know you are expecting the best for your pet.
